Injil Yohanes 15: 12-17<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

12.\u00a0<\/a><\/b>Inilah perintah-Ku, yaitu supaya kamu saling mengasihi, seperti Aku telah mengasihi kamu.<\/span><\/p>\n

13.\u00a0<\/b><\/a>Tidak ada kasih yang lebih besar dari pada kasih seorang yang memberikan nyawanya untuk sahabat-sahabatnya.<\/span><\/p>\n

14.\u00a0<\/b><\/a>Kamu adalah sahabat-Ku, jikalau kamu berbuat apa yang Kuperintahkan kepadamu.<\/span><\/p>\n

15.\u00a0<\/b><\/a>Aku tidak menyebut kamu lagi hamba, sebab hamba tidak tahu, apa yang diperbuat oleh tuannya, tetapi Aku menyebut kamu sahabat, karena Aku telah memberitahukan kepada kamu segala sesuatu yang telah Kudengar dari Bapa-Ku.<\/span><\/p>\n

16.\u00a0<\/b><\/a>Bukan kamu yang memilih Aku, tetapi Akulah yang memilih kamu. Dan Aku telah menetapkan kamu, supaya kamu pergi dan menghasilkan buah dan buahmu itu tetap, supaya apa yang kamu minta kepada Bapa dalam nama-Ku, diberikan-Nya kepadamu.<\/span><\/p>\n

17.\u00a0<\/b><\/a>Inilah perintah-Ku kepadamu: Kasihilah seorang akan yang lain.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Cintailah satu sama lain sebagaimana aku telah mencintaimu. Tidak ada kasih yang lebih besar daripada kasih seseorang yang memberikan nyawa-Nya bagi saudara-saudaranya. Yesus mencintai kita manusia sampai sehabis-habis-Nya. Cinta-Nya adalah cinta yang tanpa batas, cinta yang mengalir dan terus mengalir dan mengalir sampai keabadian. Banyak rabi dan guru mengajarkan kepada kita tentang ideal cinta tetapi hanya Yesus yang mengajar dengan penuh kekuatan dan kuasa karena dia tidah hanya mengajar tentang cinta. Ia memberikan cinta itu sampai sehabis-habisnya. Ia memberikan cinta sampai terluka. Ia memberikan cinta sampai titik darah penghabisan.<\/span><\/p>\n

Yesus mengajarkan kepada para murid-Nya dan pengikut-pengikut-Nya bahwa mencintai itu bukan hanya sekadar sebuah perasaan yang kadang-kadang\u00a0 menggebu-gebu namun kadang lemah lesu. Mencintai membutuhkan komitmen yang kuat dan kesetiaan yang berkanjang. Kadang-kadang dalam mencintai orang mesti merasakan sakit. Ada pasangan yang tetap mencintai sekalipun mereka tahu bahwa menyukai pasangan setiap hari, setiap waktu dan setiap menit tentulah mustahil. Namun karena dasarnya adalah cinta Allah, mereka berkanjang untuk setia. Banyak pasangan Katolik yang pernah dikhianati oleh pasangannya namun alih-alih memilih untuk berpisah, mereka memilih untuk menyelesaikan persoalan dan prahara rumah tangga mereka dengan mengandalkan rahmat Allah dan kesetiaan manusiawi mereka yang rapuh. Yesus pernah dikhianati oleh Yudas dan Petrus. Yudas mencari pembenaran diri dengan menyesal dan menggantung diri. Petrus menemukan pembenaran diri dengan bertobat dan memberi diri kepada Yesus sepenuh hati. Dalam banyak hal kita mesti mengakui bahwa kita mau mencintai namun dalam mencintai kadang kita jatuh pada tendensi Petrus. Mau mencintai namun kadang mengkhianati cinta itu sendiri. Mencintai namun tidak sungguh-sungguh, tidak total, setengah-setengah dan suam-suam kuku. Ketika kita menghadapi tantangan ini, marilah kita tetap kita Sabda Sang Mesias: \u201cTidak ada kasih yang lebih besar dari pada kasih seorang yang memberikan nyawanya untuk sahabat-sahabatnya.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

This is my commandment: love one another.A reading from the holy Gospel according to John<\/span><\/p>\n

Jesus said to his disciples: \u201cThis is my commandment: love one another as I love you. No one has greater love than this, to lay down one\u2019s life for one\u2019s friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you.<\/span><\/p>\n

I no longer call you slaves,\u00a0 because a slave does not know what his master is doing. I have called you friends,\u00a0 because I have told you everything I have heard from my Father. It was not you who chose me, but I who chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit that will remain,\u00a0\u00a0 so that whatever you ask the Father in my name he may give you. This I command you: love one another.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Love each other as I have loved you. There is no greater love than the love of a man who lays down his life for his brothers. Jesus loves us humans until His death. His love is infinite love, love that flows and keeps flowing and flowing to eternity. Many rabbis and teachers teach us about the ideal of love but only Jesus who teaches with power and integrity because he does not just teach us about love but He also gives his love until the end, to the final point. He gives love us even when it hurts deeply. He gives love to the last drop of his very blood.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Jesus taught His disciples and followers that to love \u00a0is not merely a feeling that comes and goes, a feeling that can be so strong and passionate but all the sudden becomes weak and fades away. To love requires a strong commitment and enduring faithfulness. Sometimes in loving people must feel pain. There are couples who still love even if they know that loving or let us say to like a partner every day, every time and every minute would be impossible. But because it is based on God’s love, they are perseve<\/b>ring to be faithful in loving their spouse. Many Catholic couples have been betrayed by their spouses but instead of\u00a0 choosing to separate, they choose to solve their problems and tempests by relying on God’s grace and their human faithfulness. Jesus was betrayed by Judas and Peter. Judas sought self-justification with regret and suicide himself. Peter found self-justification by repenting and giving himself to Jesus wholeheartedly. In many ways we must recognize that we want to love but in love sometimes we fall on the tendency of betrayal like what Peter did to Jesus. We try to Love loves but we end up betraying love itself. Loving \u00a0not with a deep deep or\u00a0 not total love, lukewarm love. When we face this challenge, let us keep in mind and heart the Word of the Messiah: “There is no greater love than the love of a man who lays down his life for his friends.”\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

12\u00a0<\/sup><\/b><\/span>Este es Mi mandamiento: que se amen los unos a los otros, as\u00ed como Yo los he amado.<\/span>\u00a013\u00a0<\/sup><\/b><\/span>Nadie tiene un amor mayor que \u00e9ste: que uno d\u00e9<\/span>[<\/sup><\/span>d<\/sup><\/a>]<\/sup><\/span>\u00a0su vida por sus amigos.<\/span>\u00a014\u00a0<\/sup><\/b><\/span>Ustedes son Mis amigos si hacen lo que Yo les mando.<\/span>\u00a015\u00a0<\/sup><\/b><\/span>Ya no los llamo siervos, porque el siervo no sabe lo que hace su se\u00f1or; pero los he llamado amigos, porque les he dado a conocer todo lo que he o\u00eddo de Mi Padre.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

16\u00a0<\/sup><\/b><\/span>Ustedes no me escogieron a M\u00ed, sino que Yo los escog\u00ed a ustedes, y los design\u00e9 para que vayan y den fruto, y que su fruto permanezca; para que todo lo que pidan al Padre en Mi nombre se\u00a0lo<\/i>\u00a0conceda.<\/span>\u00a017\u00a0<\/sup><\/b><\/span>Esto les mando: que se amen los unos a los otros.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00c1mense como yo los he amado. No hay mayor amor que el amor de un hombre que da su vida por sus hermanos. Jes\u00fas nos ama a los humanos hasta su muerte. Su amor es amor infinito, amor que fluye y sigue fluyendo y fluyendo a la eternidad.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Muchos rabinos y maestros nos ense\u00f1an sobre el ideal del amor, pero solo Jes\u00fas que ense\u00f1a con poder e integridad porque no solo nos ense\u00f1a sobre el amor, sino que tambi\u00e9n le da su amor hasta el final, hasta el punto final. \u00c9l nos \u00a0ama incluso cuando duele profundamente. \u00c9l nos da amor a la \u00faltima gota de su misma sangre.
\nJes\u00fas les ense\u00f1\u00f3 a sus disc\u00edpulos y seguidores que amar no es simplemente un sentimiento que viene y se va, un sentimiento que puede ser tan fuerte y apasionado, sino que de repente se vuelve d\u00e9bil y se desvanece. Amar requiere un fuerte compromiso y una fidelidad duradera. A veces, al amar, las personas deben sentir dolor. Hay parejas que todav\u00eda aman, incluso si saben que amar o digamos que les gusta su marido\/a todos los d\u00edas, cada vez y cada minuto ser\u00eda imposible. Pero debido a que se basa en el amor de Dios, ellos son perseverantes para ser fieles en amar a su pareja. Muchas parejas cat\u00f3licas han sido traicionadas por sus esposo\/a, pero en lugar de elegir separarse, eligen resolver sus problemas y tempestades confiando en la gracia de Dios y su fidelidad humana. Jes\u00fas fue traicionado por Judas y Pedro. Judas busc\u00f3 la autojustificaci\u00f3n con arrepentimiento y suicidio. Pedro encontr\u00f3 autojustificaci\u00f3n, arrepinti\u00e9ndose y entreg\u00e1ndose a Jes\u00fas de todo coraz\u00f3n. En muchos sentidos, debemos reconocer que queremos amar, pero en el amor a veces caemos en la tendencia a la traici\u00f3n, como lo que Pedro le hizo a Jes\u00fas. Tratamos de amar a los amores pero terminamos traicionando al amor mism cuando amamos no con un amor profundo ni total, con un amor tibio. Cuando enfrentamos este desaf\u00edo, tengamos en mente y coraz\u00f3n la Palabra del Mes\u00edas: “No hay mayor amor que el amor de un hombre que da su vida por sus amigos”.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
