2 Makabe 7:1, 20-31, Lukas 19: 11-28

Sejak hari senin sampai hari rabu pekan ini, kita disuguhkan kisah tentang betapa setianya tokoh-tokoh yang Makabe ceritakan. Mereka semua adalah pahlawan-pahlawan iman dan kebenaran yang heroik, yang berani berdiri dan menyatakan bahwa kami memilih untuk berpikir dan bertindak berbeda bukan karena  mau menjadi tenar atau popular tetapi karena mereka memilih hukum Allah yang sudah mereka taati bahkan sejak zaman nenek moyang mereka, sebelum mereka lahir dan ada di dunia. Bujukan, penyiksaan dan penyengsaraan tidak membuat mereka goyah. Hati mereka teguh berpegang pada Allah. Allah yang memberi, Allah pula mengambil, terpujilah nama Allah. Saya tertegun membaca ucapan ibu dari ketujuh anaknya. Mereka akhirnya dihukum secara keji karena menolak taat kepada raja. Sang Ibu menguatkan hati anak-anaknya dengan berkata: “Aku tidak tahu bagaimana kamu muncul dalam kandungku. Bukan akulah yang memberi kepadamu nafas dan hidup atau menyusun bagian-bagian pada badanmu masing-masing. Melainkan pencipta alam semestalah yang membentuk kelahiran manusia dan merencanakan kejadian segala sesuatunya. Dengan belaskasihan-Nya Tuhan akan memberikan kembali roh dan hidup kepada kamu, justru oleh karena kamu kini memandang dirimu bukan apa-apa demi hukum-hukum-Nya.

Ibu ini tak gentar hatinya di hadapan maut. Dia adalah sosok perempuan kuat yang berdiri kokoh di hadapan setiap hempasan badai ancaman dan siksaan yang datang mendera. Baginya tantangan dan godaan bukan apa-apa dibandingkan kekuatan dan ketahanan iman yang sudah Tuhan karuniakan kepadanya dan anak-anaknya. Imannya adalah sebuah iman yang eksistensial dan tak tergoyahkan. Iman yang begitu mahal dan berharga sehingga tak satu pun barang atau orang mampu membelinya. Ibu ini percaya bahwa Tuhanlah yang memberi hidup, Tuhan pula yang memberi hukum. Hidup mereka adalah keberserahan total pada hukum dan kehendak Tuhan. Hidup mereka takkan berarti jika hanya diisi dengan mengikuti gerak arus zaman dan juga tawaran yang membelai dan membujuk egoisme diri dan mengekalkan nafsu cari nikmat sendiri.

Kesetiaan yang total dan berkanjang juga Yesus tekankan dalam perumpamaan Injil hari ini. Yesus berbicara tentang bagaimana membina dan menjaga kualitas kesetiaan dalam kebajikan-kebajikan yang kecil dan sederhana. Tuhan mempercayakan kita dengan keping-keping talenta dan bakat, kemampuan dan kecakapan sederhana dan apa-adanya yang selayaknya kita pergunakan untuk memperluas Kerajaan Allah di dunia sehingga lewat bakat, kamampuan dan kecakapan kita, kita dapat semakin membawa orang dekat dengan Allah, orang semakin merasakan kedekatan dan kasih Allah lewat kasih dan perhatian kita, orang dapat merasakan kehendak Allah yang suci, murni dan lurus lewat kesaksian hidup Katolik kita yang patut dan layak, yang sejati dan apa-adanya, yang tanpa pretensi, tidak munafik dan tidak dibuat-buat.

Sementara kita menjalani peziarahan di dunia ini dengan sabar dan tekun, dengan setia dan kasih, marilah kita senantiasa ingat bahwa hidup kita ini semata adalah sebuah rahmat, sebuah hadiah kasih Allah yang begitu besar untuk kita pakai sebaik-baiknya. Kalau hidup adalah hadiah. Tak usahlah kita kikir dan pelit. Kita sudah terima secara gratis. Mari kita bagi secara gratis pula. Mereka yang tahu bersyukur dan tahu berbagi adalah mereka yang bahagia dan hatinya dekat dengan sesama, dekat pula dengan Allah.

2 Mc 7:1, 20-31 Gospel Lk 19:11-28

From Monday to Wednesday, we are presented with the story of how faithful the characters in the book of Maccabees.  They are all heroic. They were heroes of faith and truth who dared to stand up and declare that they chose to think and act differently not because they want to be famous or popular but because they chose the law of God that they have obeyed even since the time of their ancestors, before they were born. Persuasion, torture and suffering did not make them waver. Their hearts held fast to God. God who gives, God also takes back, praise the name of God. I was stunned to read the words of the mother the  seven children. They were so cruelly punished for refusing to obey the king. The Mother encouraged them by saying: “I do not know how you appear in my realm. It is not I who gives you the breath and life or assemble the parts of your body. Rather it is the creator of nature that should shape the birth of man and plan the events of things. With His mercy the Lord will give back the spirit and life to you, precisely because you are now looking at yourself as nothing because of  His Laws.

This mother was not afraid in front of the face of death. She is a strong female figure who stood firmly in the presence of every storm of threats and tortures that came whacking. For her, the challenge and the temptation were nothing compared to the strength and endurance of faith that God has bestowed upon her and her children. Her faith is an existential and immovable faith. That kind of  faith is so expensive and precious that nothing or nobody can afford it. This mother believed that God was the one who gave life, God also gave the law. Their life was a total surrender to the law and the will of God. Their life will be meaningless if it is only filled with the trend or flow of the times. They chose not to obey just to caresses and entices selfish self-esteem and perpetuates the desire for its own pleasure.

Jesus also emphasizes the  total and persevering faithfulness in today’s Gospel. Jesus speaks of how to foster and maintain the quality of faithfulness in small and simple virtues. God entrusts us with the talents and capacity, abilities and simple skills that we should use to extend the Kingdom of God in the world so that through our talents and abilities we can bring people closer to God, more people feel the closeness and love of God through our love and concern, one can feel the holy, pure and righteous will of God through the true and proper witness of our Catholic life, which is without pretension, not hypocrit and not artificial.

While we are making our pilgrim in this world with patience and diligence, faithfully and lovingly, let us always remember that our life is merely a mercy, a gift of God’s great love for us to use as well as possible. Life is a gift. Let us not be greedy and stingy. We’ve got it for free. Let’s share it for free too. Those who know to be thankful and know to share are happy person because they are close to others. They are also close to God.

Desde lunes a miércoles, se nos presenta la historia de cuán fieles son los personajes del libro de los Macabeos. Todos son heroicos. Eran héroes de la fe y la verdad que se atrevieron a ponerse de pie y declarar que optaron por pensar y actuar de manera diferente no porque quisieran ser famosos o populares sino porque eligieron la ley de Dios que han obedecido incluso desde el tiempo de sus antepasados antes de que nacieran. La persuasión, la tortura y el sufrimiento no los hicieron vacilar. Sus corazones se aferraron a Dios. Dios que da, Dios también que quita, alaben el nombre de Dios. Me sorprendió leer las palabras de la madre de los siete hijos. Fueron castigados tan cruelmente por negarse a obedecer al rey. La madre los alentó diciendo: “No sé cómo apareces en mi reino. No soy yo quien te da el aliento y la vida o ensamblas las partes de tu cuerpo. Más bien es el creador de la naturaleza el que debe dar forma al nacimient del hombre y planee los eventos de las cosas. Con Su misericordia, el Señor le devolverá el espíritu y la vida, precisamente porque ahora se está mirando a sí mismo como nada solo por sus leyes.

Esta madre no tenía miedo frente a la muerte. Ella es una figura femenina fuerte que se mantuvo firme en presencia de todas las tormentas de amenazas y torturas que venían golpeando. Para ella, el desafío y la tentación no eran nada en comparación con la fuerza y ​​la resistencia de la fe que Dios le ha otorgado a ella y a sus hijos. Su fe es una fe existencial e inamovible. Ese tipo de fe es tan caro y precioso que nada ni nadie puede permitírselo. Esta madre creyó que Dios fue quien dio vida, Dios también dio la ley. Su vida fue una entrega total a la ley y la voluntad de Dios. Su vida no tendrá sentido si solo está llena de la tendencia o el flujo de los tiempos. Eligieron no obedecer solo a las caricias y tentar la autoestima egoísta y perpetuar el deseo de su propio placer.

Jesús también enfatiza la fidelidad total y perseverante en el Evangelio de hoy. Jesús habla de cómo fomentar y mantener la calidad de la fidelidad en virtudes pequeñas y simples. Dios nos confía los talentos y capacidades, habilidades y habilidades simples que debemos usar para extender el Reino de Dios en el mundo para que a través de nuestros talentos y habilidades podamos acercar a las personas a Dios, más personas sientan la cercanía y el amor de Dios. a través de nuestro amor y preocupación, uno puede sentir la voluntad santa, pura y justa de Dios a través del testimonio verdadero y propio de nuestra vida católica, que es sin pretensión, no hipócrita y no artificial.

Mientras hacemos nuestro peregrino en este mundo con paciencia y diligencia, fiel y amorosamente, recordemos siempre que nuestra vida es meramente una misericordia, un regalo del gran amor de Dios para que la usemos lo mejor posible. La vida es un regalo. No seamos codiciosos y mezquinos. Lo tenemos gratis Vamos a compartirlo gratis también. Los que saben estar agradecidos y saben compartir son personas felices porque están cerca de los demás. También están cerca de Dios.
