Yesus mengunjungi kembali sahabat-sahabatnya di Betania. Sebua kunjungan bersahabat namun juga sebuah kunjungan enam hari menjelang kematiannya. Enam hari sebelum Paskah, Yesus untuk mampir sebentar di Betania, sebuah kota begitu dekat letaknya dengan Yerusalem, tempat di mana dia akan mati kelak. Yesus sempat untuk singgah di sana, di rumah kawan-Nya Lazarus. Kita ingat bahwa Lazarus yang baru saja dibangkitkan-Nya dari kematian. 
Dalam kunjungan kali ini, saudari Lazarus, Maria menunjukkan satu pengorbanan besar yakni meminyaki kaki Yesus dengan Minyak Narwastu sekalipun dia tahu bahwa minyak Narwastu itu mahal harganya. Maria entah sadar atau tidak seperti hendak mengekspresikan bahwa kesempatan untuk mengungkapkan pengabdiannya yang total kepada Yesus segera akan berakhir, sebab Almasih akan menghadapi penderitaan yang sedemikian berat. Olehg sebab itu, Maria sungguh memanfaatkan waktu terakhir bersama Yesus untuk memberikan sebuah penghormatan terakhir. Iman dan pengabdiannya kepada Tuhan merupakan teladan tertinggi dari apa yang diinginkan Allah dari orang percaya, memberikan yang terbaik untuk Tuhan.  
Kita perlu bertanya kepada diri kita sendiri. Apakah kita memberikan yang terbaik dari waktu kita untuk Tuhan. Ataukah kita termasuk kelas orang yang hanya memberikan waktu sisa saja untuk Tuhan. 
Saudara/i, memberikan yang terbaik berkaitan erat dengan persiapan yang terbaik. Sebagaimanan orangtua menanti kelahiran anaknya, mereka mempersiapkan segala sesuatu berhari-hari sebelum anak mereka lahir. Jika uang mereka terbatas, mereka mulai mencicil membeli barang-barang itu. Mereka memikirkan warna kamarnya, warna mainannya, bahkan model pakaiannya. Ketika sang anak lahir, dia menikmati segala yang terbaik.

Apakah Anda seperti Maria yang rela dan suka memberikan yang terbaik kepada TUHAN? Jika belum, belajarlah untuk meninggalkan mental “memberikan-sisa” dan mulai persiapkan pemberian Anda kepada DIA yang terlebih dahulu memberikan segala yang terbaik kepada Anda. Amin.

Jesús volvió a visitar a sus amigos en Betania. Una visita amistosa pero también una visita seis días antes de su muerte. Seis días antes de la Pascua, Jesús se detuvo brevemente en Betania, una ciudad tan cerca de Jerusalén, el lugar donde moriría más tarde. Jesús tuvo tiempo de detenerse allí en la casa de su amigo Lázaro. Recordamos a ese Lázaro a quien acababa de resucitar.
Durante esta visita, la hermana Lázaro, María, mostró un gran sacrificio que ungía los pies de Jesús con aceite de perfume fragante aunque sabía que el aceite era caro. María estába consciente o no quiso posponer en expresar su total devoción a Jesús antes que fuera tarde porque el Mesías enfrentará un sufrimiento tan doloroso. Por lo tanto, María realmente usó la última vez con Jesús para dar un tributo final. La fe y la devoción a Dios es el ejemplo más elevado de lo que Dios quiere de los creyentes, dando lo mejor a Dios.
Necesitamos preguntarnos a nosotros mismos. Damos lo mejor de nuestro tiempo a Dios. O pertenecemos a una clase de personas que solo le dan a Dios el tiempo restante.
Hermanos, dar lo mejor está estrechamente relacionado con la mejor preparación. Mientras los padres esperan el nacimiento de sus hijos, preparan todo durante días antes de que nazca su hijo. Si su dinero no esta suficiente, comienzan a pagar en cuotas para comprar los artículos. Piensan en el color de la habitación, el color del juguete, incluso el modelo de la ropa. Cuando nace el niño, disfrutara de todo lo mejor.
¿Eres como María, que está dispuesta y le gusta dar lo mejor a Dios? Si no es así, aprenda a dejar el “regalo” mental y comience a preparar su regalo para el que primero le entrega todo lo que es mejor para usted. Amén

Jesus revisited his friends at Bethany. A friendly visit but also a visit six days before his death. Six days before Easter, Jesus stopped briefly at Bethany, a city so close to Jerusalem, the place where he would die later. Jesus had time to stop there at the house of his friend Lazarus. We remember that Lazarus whom he had just raised from the dead.
During this visit, a sister of Lazarus, Mary showed a great sacrifice that was anointing the feet of Jesus with oil of perfume even though she knew that oil was expensive. Maria did not want to miss the opportunity to express her her total devotion to Jesus before it was too late, for the Messiah would soon face such severe suffering. Therefore, Mary really used the last time with Jesus to give a final tribute. Faith and devotion to God is the highest example of what God wants from believers, giving the best to Him.
We need to ask ourselves. Do we give the best of our time to God? Or do we belong to a class of people who only give God the leftover time? 
Brothers and sisters,  giving the best is closely related to the best preparation. As parents wait for the birth of their children, they prepare everything for days before their child is born. If their money is limited, they start paying in installments to buy the items. They think of the color of the room, the color of the toy, even the model of the clothes. When the child is born, he enjoys all the best.Are you like Mary who is willing and likes to give the best to God? If not, learn to leave the mental “give-away” and start preparing your gift to HIM who first gave everything that is best to you. Amen.
